Cons

The Sonos Move is decent for music. It has a very well-balanced sound profile and is suitable for a wide variety of music genres. Unfortunately, the soundstage is quite narrow due to its mono design, but it still performs decently for a non-360-degree speaker. There's also quite a bit of bass compression when using it at max volume. On the upside, it has a room correction feature that can be used to calibrate its audio delivery when connected to Wi-Fi.

There are other great portable Bluetooth speakers out there - including Sonos' own Roam that is far smaller and better designed for constant portability - but there are none quite like the Sonos Move in terms of sound output and features, especially not for those already invested in the Sonos system. It's the Bluetooth speaker Sonos fans were waiting for.Read full verdict

Cons

With the Sonos Move the company offers the first opportunity to enjoy its signature sound without having to plug into an outlet. Overall, the Move feels like a standard Sonos speaker with all of the accompanying audio quality that also has a battery, and can thus be moved out into the garden or onto the porch when you feel like basking in the sun. If you don't think your speaker is going to get much outdoor use, there are other offerings in the Sonos family that sound just as good but aren't battery powered and thus are much less expensive. If you've ever wished you could enjoy your Sonos system in your backyard, however, this is the speaker you've been waiting for.

Sonos was caught in hot water about a year ago for questionable “recycling” practices. The company eventually mended the issue to the benefit of the environment. It seems like Sonos took that lesson to heart, because it’s now offering owners of the battery-powered Move speaker a way to replace said battery themselves.
