What experts are saying

Fast charging and elegant software offset a so-so camera

Pros
  • Great screen
  • Elegant software
  • Fast charging
Cons
  • Camera can overprocess images
  • Digital zoom is weak
  • No 5G on AT&T, awaiting Verizon 5G certification

The OnePlus 9 Pro holds its own against other flagships with a spectacular ultra-wide camera, smooth performance, and impressively fast wireless charging.

Pros
  • Fast performance
  • Excellent all-around camera
  • Beautiful sunlight-readable screen
  • Incredibly fast wired and wireless charging
  • Little bloatware
Cons
  • Battery life could be better

The OnePlus 9 Pro doesn’t build in any groundbreaking Android phone features, but it’s a fantastic overall handset.

Pros
  • The best OnePlus camera phone
  • Great power
  • Premium design
Cons
  • High price
  • No microSD support
  • Middling battery life

This beautiful new phone from OnePlus impresses in every department. While the OnePlus 9 Pro doesn’t offer the best camera phone even with a new partnership with Hasselblad, it’s a serious contender for the best Android phone overall.

Pros
  • Gorgeous design
  • Beautiful 120Hz display
  • Excellent performance
  • Crazy fast wired and wireless charging
  • Fantastic cameras
Cons
  • Morning Mist model is very slippery
  • Nightscape photos are inconsistent

Last year’s OnePlus 8 Pro was a departure for the company. It marked a more expensive, more premium phone than previous OP (OnePlus) models. The 9 Pro is an expansion of this philosophy, packing better cameras and more high-end features than ever before. To put it simply: This is the best phone OnePlus has ever built.

Pros
  • Crazy fast
  • Big, beautiful display
  • The best cameras ever in a OnePlus phone
  • Stupid-fast charging (wired and wireless)
Cons
  • The telephoto lens isn't great
  • Battery life is hit and miss
  • Fast wireless charger is a costly add-on

After a year of waiting, the OnePlus 9 Pro is here to replace the OnePlus 8 Pro. Has OnePlus made the most of its longer than usual development period?

Pros
  • All the power you could want
  • A stunning screen
  • Very fast wired and wireless charging
  • Reliable, smooth, and quick software
Cons
  • Hasselblad involvement isn't that noticeable
  • At $969, it faces serious flagship competition

The OnePlus 9 Pro brings the flagship fight to Apple and Samsung's door. Can it compete? Find out in this OnePlus 9 Pro review.

It’s still missing that special something, but the OnePlus 9 Pro can at least capture photos that match and sometimes surpass its peers.

The OnePlus 9 Pro's much touted camera changes don't add up to much, while the dated design makes this the least compelling OnePlus flagship yet.

Pros
  • Strong specs
  • Great display
  • Fast charging
  • OxygenOS
Cons
  • Disappointing camera
  • Clunky design
  • Out-priced by rivals

The OnePlus 9 Pro marks the end of any affordable flagship killer DNA left in the top offering from OnePlus, this is simply a great flagship phone.

Pros
  • Top-of-the-line performance
  • Unmatched wired and wireless charging
  • Vivid 120Hz adaptive display
  • Solid camera experience
  • Useful software optimizations
Cons
  • Slightly disappointing battery life
  • Software update track record
  • Lacks a periscope zoom lens

The OnePlus 9 Pro is a cheaper alternative to rival flagship smartphones and makes a decent case to be the big-screen phone for your pocket

Pros
  • Good HDR handling
  • Strong gaming performance
  • Impressive camera array
Cons
  • Uninspiring audio
  • Video short on subtlety

The OnePlus 9 Pro is far from perfect, it’s main issue with battery seem to be something you will experience with all flagship phones this year. The camera is excellent, not quite the best, but its performance is relative to the price and I prefer it to the Mi 11.

Samsung dropped the entry price of its S21 Ultra $200 and set the bar for Android phones in 2021. OnePlus just trumped that move with a phone that offers a cleaner experience and charging innovations for about $200 less.

Pros
  • Fast performance
  • Extremely fast wired and wireless charging
  • Volume mode switch
  • Advanced multiple cameras
  • No bloatware or ads
Cons
  • None

OnePlus 9 Pro: OnePlus undercuts the opposition again but the price keeps creeping up

Pros
  • Hasselblad cameras are good
  • Snapdragon 888 SoC
  • Rapid 65W wired charging and 50W wireless charging
Cons
  • Glossy finish picks up fingerprints
  • Middling battery life
  • No microSD card slot or 3.5mm headset jack

Following months of hype, the OnePlus 9 Pro is here with its Hasselblad camera and some of the fastest charging speeds I've ever seen.

Pros
  • Excellent screen
  • Fast wired and wireless charging is a dream
  • One of the best versions of Android
  • Impressive ultra-wide camera
Cons
  • The camera can be frustratingly slow to open
  • No great zoom skills and better photos taken elsewhere
  • Not widely available on contract

The OnePlus 9 Pro is a cheaper alternative to rival flagship smartphones and makes a decent case to be the big-screen phone for your pocket

Pros
